About the Book

An older but young-looking professor at a major Sri Lankan university marries, at the age of sixty-seven, a young lady just twenty years old. He suddenly falls in love with her after resisting the temptation for over five years following his wife’s sudden death from a heart attack. Following their marriage, he goes to Japan with her on a two-year sabbatical. There he meets his old friend, Akirasan, another professor who is younger than he. His wife has a relationship with him, purely for sex purposes at first, but gradually she gets attached to him. The professor becomes aware of their relationship and does not object or show any opposition. He likes Akirasan as a good friend. He, too, eventually falls in with a Korean/Japanese woman and learns a lot about life, love, and sex. He loved his wife with no reservations. He wanted to prove at some stage what he is capable of sexually. He was waiting for the right time. It is to be noted that both of the professor and his wife do not discuss things face to face. Eventually, they start to communicate through the diaries they both maintain. They both read each other’s diaries on a regular basis, but they pretend they knew nothing about the existence of the diaries, even whilst learning a lot about their spouse’s feelings, emotions, opinions, and ideas.

About the Author

He was born in Sri Lanka. He went to Dela Salle School until his GCSC and then went to St.Anthony's (Wattala) and then to St.Anne's , Kurunegala, Sri Lanka from where he successfully made his entry into the University. Entered the University of Peradeniya in 1961 and left in 1965 after completing a Law Degree. Became an Advocate of the Supreme Court of Sri Lanka.He still remains attached to the Bar in Sri lanka. His first job was as a Journalist attached to the Lake House, in Sri Lanka and became an Editor in Chief in six months. At Peradeniya University he was selected during his first year ( while he was still a raw green fresher) by Prof Sarachchandra to play a lead role in Sinhabahu which became the most successful drama in the Sinhala Theatre.(Ref: youtube Sinhabahu acts 1&2 ) He played the role of Lion and became a household name, a legend to this day. Performed in excess of 1600 times during his association with it during 1961 to 1970.However, his last performance was in 1993 when he visited Sri Lanka. He was an Advisor to Mrs.Bandaranayake (th first woman PM in the world) and was assigned Uva Province os Sri Lanka to look after the MPs,The Ministers and the People there. He Left Sri Lanka in 1971 and came to the United Kingdom. Worked in the Civil Service and became a Solicitor of the Supreme Court of England and Wales. Practised in England for a while and retired. Proceeded to the States and did his PH.D there. He is an Actor, singer, Journalist, writer (Novelist) and Poet.Also writes plays. He was first one to do a One-Act play for the first time int he world, with one actor throughout lasting about 40 minutes. It was acclaimed as one of the best in the Festival of Plays organized by the paper he was editing at the time.It was named Mamath Minihek translated as "I am also a man ".
