About the Book

This book fulfills nearly a lifetime of hope—a hope of one day sharing abroad some of the visible and invisible things that the eyes of my heart notice, contemplate, love, and interpret. Perhaps one could call these poems translations. Poetry emanates from the heart. The heart, being made by the Creator, needs something else to capture an experience, a moment. Many experiences are tiny, fleeting ones; others are huge and overwhelming. Most happen on an inner plane, some reaching a pitch that need expression, need sharing. In the end, poems live by being read. The reader loves them into life, resuscitates their words right off the page, and extracts all that resonates.

About the Author

Having lived in New York and Europe, S. H. Long returned home to San Francisco, where she now enjoys two little Maltese dogs and a lovely garden, and lives as a lay Dominican. This selection of poems reflects a life journey through seasons of loss to new beginnings.
