The bell finally rang at the end of the day and Lacey rushed outside to meet her mother. They got on the first puff pad they could find. Lacey was so excited she was chatting the whole way there with Mrs. Flock. She still had no idea what it was that she saw from so high up they day before, but she was just as enthusiastic. They finally arrived, and Lacey rummaged through piles and piles of recycled products. She was getting very angry. She was wondering how she could have lost sight of it and if she would ever find it again. Lacey was getting very tired of looking. There were a few items that looked just similar, but they were not the same. Finally, Lacey found what she was looking for. The color was so perfect; it was shining right in her face. It was exactly what she hoped it would be. She pulled it out from the pile and started looking carefully at it. She asked her mother, “What is it exactly?” Her mother replied, “It is a tutu”. Lacey did not know what a tutu was. Lacey’s mom explained it was something that ballerinas wore when they danced. Even though Lacey did not dance, she was so excited she would be able to wear something so pretty, so she tried it on right there. It was just her size!!

About the Book
Enter the world of Lacey, where everything is bright and lively, only Lacey soon learns that life sends difficult situations in order for a lesson to be learned. Being a new member of a new school is hard enough, and Lacey soon finds something that enlightens her heart and brightens her world. Unfortunately, she meets someone who challenges the source of her happiness and believes for a short period of time that it no longer makes her happy. As Lacey and her new encounter’s hearts change, the situation unfolds into a lifelong lesson learned.
About the Author
Lauren Kachnowski grew up in the small town of Roselle Park, New Jersey, and studied on scholarship at Kean University, where she was also a member of the field hockey team. Graduating with a degree in math and a master’s in instruction and curriculum, she went on to teach high school math. Although the world of education is her home, Lauren finds the most comfort in all things creative. Growing up in special art classes and eventually taking advanced art classes in high school, and later on turning down an acceptance to Mason Gross Art School at Rutgers University, Lauren continues to find peace in writing and dancing for the Semi-Pro Somerset Bears Football Team. Lauren has always lived in a world of her own in her head, keeping journals and imagining faraway places. Always keeping a journal, she finally decided to take her writing to the next level. Lauren is a new author eager to enthuse the creative side of children by teaching valuable lessons, morals, and hidden messages that will help shape their lives in a positive, uplifting way. Lauren truly believes there is something to be learned in every situation and hopes her message will shed light to adults and help change the way they think.
