I want this book to tell the truth about what happen along the way what brought us to this point. What, if any of those events, took us to this point, examine whether we could have done something different.
To outlines the steps we took to make it through this trying time from first been told, to understanding the meaning of “Gender Identity”, to coming to terms with feelings of anger and confusion.
From meeting with counselors, physicians, psychiatrists to discussion of the surgery which would transform our son into our daughter. I hope doing so will allow others going through this with their love one know that all is not lost? To give hope to them that yes you are losing someone dear to you but you are also gaining as well.
We gained a child who is happy and confident in herself; someone who isn’t afraid to stand up for herself and who has more strength and courage then anyone I know.

Marilyn Phillips is a businesswoman who is also a self-taught artist of stone carvings and a jewelry maker. She is the proud mother of two wonderful children and has been married to her loving and patient husband for 25 years.
