About the Book
In his first published work, Bill Hunt has actually produced a multitude of stories in one book. As the reader progresses through the four short stories narrated by the Grandson of George Hunt, the main character, the readers will find themselves thinking, “Huh, did I miss something?” About half way through that will change to a “Hmmm.” The main story involves the backgrounds and interactions of four individuals who end up together in the Argonne Forest during World War I. The final story is the Grandsons’, and his turn to serve, fifty years later in the “Disneyland of Southeast Asia.”
About the Author
In “Over There,” his first novella, Mr. Hunt brings together a unique blend of characters, jumbles there biographies and comes out with a novel novella.
The story is a in the form of five interlocking short stories. The first four fictionalized biographies, the fifth an amalgamation of the first four.
The title “Over There” carries with it the innuendo that it is a story about World War I. While it is true that the main action revolves around a particular set of events during the Great War, the reader will eventually become aware that this is not the case.
You will travel in and out of five lives and just as in real life bump up against a few more. A grandfather, a grandson, an immigrant, a draftee, and a professional Army officer will take you from the joy of average citizens through the drudgery of war and back again.
The format on this one is definitely different.
