On a brisk fall day Black Bear rustled through the leaves, in search of some food before winter's eve. Just settling in for a long winter's nap, when she heard at the door a very faint tap. "Black Bear, Black Bear", Rabbit cried, "Can I come in?" "Not unless you plan to work in this den." " I can sing! I can dance! I'm a real class act! If you say yes, you'll be glad, that's a fact! "NO MORE ROOM IN THIS DEN! NO MORE ROOM IN THIS DEN! NO MORE ROOM IN THIS DEN! NO ONE ELSE CAN COME IN!" Everyone did just as they said. Bear had all that she needed before time for bed. All nestled together in a gigantic warm heap, no one else can come in, and now Black Bear can sleep.

About the Book
Black Bear has found the ultimate spot to lay her head for the winter. As a few other animals begin to frantically scramble to find a safe, warm place, they stumble upon Black Bear’s den. Though the space is quite small, Rabbit, Snake, Fox, and Squirrel convince Black Bear to let them come in. They each offer to contribute a special talent as payment for their stay with her. Together they produce the perfect atmosphere in preparation for Black Bear’s long winter nap.
About the Author
Iris Ferguson, an elementary school teacher, gained her inspiration as a writer from sharing a host of wonderful children’s books from notable authors with her kindergarten students. She graduated with her Bachelor of Science Degree in Early Childhood Development, and became a certified teacher thereafter. She’s a native Galvestonian, but now resides in Houston, Texas, with her two daughters, and two grandsons.
