About the Book

Do you talk to your dog? Now you can also read stories to him or her. What better way to spend time with your special canine companion than sharing a quiet moment together before bedtime? If you’ve ever owned or loved a shelter dog, this book is for you … and your dog. Your dog will relax (and so will you) as you sit quietly and read tall tales, sweet poems, and a nighttime prayer before lights out. Nighttime Stories for Rescued Dogs is a delightful collection of stories narrated for dogs, but certain to please their humans as well. Patricia Kenet doesn’t shrink from the gross aspects of dog culture; rather, she includes those things as part of a loving understanding of dogs. Ann-Janine Morey, author, Picturing Dogs, Seeing Ourselves: Vintage American Photographs I loved all of these short, wonderful tales, which are alternately educational, hilarious, and evocative (and beautifully illustrated) Hope Levy, Actress, “Howl’s Moving Castle,” “From Up On Poppy Hill,” “Pom Poko”
