Fierce Lightning The clouds roll in a storm is brewing in the air Fear consumes and lightning cracks as I just stare The skies open up and the rain lets loose Winds whip around me like the sins I choose The sticks and stones that left me bruised Bleeding scars, help I refused Whirling, blackened head in a spin Resembles this weather that I am in Heart like the thunder pounding so fierce My eyes like the rain pouring the tears The earth that is trembling is knocking me down The storm just keeps blowing me around Like a tornado, my world is at spin Standing my ground I know I can win Fierce lightning now cracks across the skies I see it in the heavens it glitters in my eyes Hold me back, hold me down Take me to safety before I drown They raging rivers now collide With all emotion that I hide Flooding waters, caving dirt So many pages of distain and hurt The screaming tides that washed me away Knocked me off my feet today I tried to hang on but I was too weak The thunder, the lightning, they all did speak Pulled me up to the heavens into the night No more weather did I then fight

About the Book
Being a teenager is not easy. Growing up I suffered great loss. A loss of hope, a loss of faith and a loss of will. Fighting through each day in heartache, and fear bleeding a pain that I could never express in words. I fought through my life through my writing. Every emotion, every tear, every thought I wrote on paper. I can only hope and wish that young women coming of age in today’s world can understand that no matter how bad life seems to be at that moment, it does get better. I have learned through the years that life is worth the fight. My wish, no my hope is that through my history, through my words I can help others live the life they long.
About the Author
She has been writing since she was a girl. Her first publication was for a contest in 1991 at the age of fifteen for the National Library of Poetry. Born and raised in Iowa she grew up a very troubled young women. As a teenager, she suffered depression and has fought it ever since. She spent a lifetime battling this disease that worsened after the births of her children. She was then diagnosed with Post Pardon Depression. Two marriages and two children later, she has finally found happiness.
