About the Author

A little biography of the Author The idea, concept, and creation came from the author’s wonderful husband, Mr William John Allen. He gave her the job of bringing the characters alive. Between them, they had many hours of laughter, giggling in the tent on holiday about the next chapter and revelling in what Jeff and Hedgy were going to do next. Also, over a pint in The Fox in Attleborough, Nuneaton. The best story ideas came from sober and drunken states looking through the bottom of an empty vessel, waiting to be filled with Arh, nectar. Jayne Belinda Allen was born in Crickowell, Wales in 1958. Her father was in the Army and so travelled to many parts of the world. Her sister was born in Hong Kong and her brothers were born in different places in England. She went to many schools in her lifetime. From the age of ten, she studied at Haig school in Germany, Kiwi School in Salisbury England, Woodlands junior school in Chelmsley wood England, Kingshurst High School England, Atherstone High School England, Great Barr Comprehensive School in Birmingham, and Ryland Bedford High School in Sutton Coldfield, England. She actually achieved some qualifications to boot. In her teens, she studied at Walsall Art College England. As time went by, she also studied at Walsall Technology College, Bourneville College Birmingham, and South Birmingham College. Her thirst for writing became apparent when she was voted in as Public Relations Officer for Walsall Synchronized Swimming Club. She wrote monthly newsletters and kept the local newspapers up to date with the Synchronized swimming competition results. She also promoted the Club in local libraries across the West Midlands and the Club awarded a trophy for her outstanding work. Jayne has worked in bookkeeping as a starter profession and then for many decades in the caring profession. She then moved to being a Senior Physiotherapy Assistant to mental health support worker. She has also worked in the voluntary sector and achieved a Synchronized Swimming Assistant Teachers Certificate, as well as lifeguard Certificate to help with the Club. She also volunteered as a creative writing teacher and ran competitions for young children at Baddesley Ensor village hall, Atherstone, which she absolutely loved. Her poems have been entered into anthologies and won prizes. Her art work to date, including her embroidery and craft creations have won many prizes, mostly first and the occasional second and third in the Nuneaton Festival of Arts. She has two grown up children and a granddaughter. She re-married in 2008 to a wonderful, supportive, caring man, Mr William John Allen) who is her soul mate. She presently resides in Warwickshire but time will tell if she will stay. It could be the gypsy in her. Her life has led her to many places and she has experienced the good, the bad, and the ugly in her lifetime and still smiling.
