Sitting in his front seat she did not know the trip would take about 5 minutes. They commented on traffic, the midday sun, and her newness to the town and area. They arrived at the park, walked over near a wooded section flanked by water and with sandwiches in tow. After a few bites and his reminding her of his ‘open door’ question policy offering, she more than readily decided to jump right in. “What kinds of things are you wanting in a relationship?” She asked him. Damon had this answer. He had used it before. It was the best he could come up with really. “I need communication and affection. If those aren’t there, then I don’t do well. I have found that out about myself. I also appreciate loyalty too as I haven’t gotten that. But those two, affection and communication are key to knowing me. You either get it or you don’t with me. “ Damon laughed as Mallory beamed, thinking about how much she herself liked affection. He then took that opportunity to reach out to hold her hand and she took his responding with a flash of excitement that ran through her hotter than the 92 degree afternoon temps which were only a tad lower in the shaded bench area where they were seated. She then watched him meticulously strip the sub of the cucumber and tomato, individually eating them with his fingers separately before devouring the sub. Instead of thinking about the eccentricity of that peculiarity it instead made her think about how maybe he would take his time with her step by step. She imagined his hand taking his time starting with her hair and caressing her all over, taking off her clothes one by one. She fantasized of this man making her naked and touching her parts. His touch was intoxicating much like his voice . His eyes looking at her, his salt and pepper hair, and very distinct jaw line were dizzingly attractive. He was in good shape as his shoulders looked very strong. She wanted to see him in his underwear and more. She wanted to see what his manhood looked like. If he was going to invite her back to his place, she had already decided in her mind she was going to go with him, period or not. “You weren’t getting attention from Chloe, … and affection?” She had trouble believing, “No, that stopped pretty much after the money she took from me went and vaporized before my eyes. We were off and on after that for a time. But mostly, all the trust and most of the affection went out the window after that. We got separated and then after that a time or two tried off and on but mostly we have lived apart.” Damon spoke and looked off in the distance. He began to think about how something similar had happened after his first marriage of 12 years to his children’s mom. He would discuss this with her too, at a later time. It was all hard for him to communicate this scar, his vulnerabilities and his weakness. How was it that a pastor could get married twice and have them both fail? For a man to get along swimmingly with literally thousands of people in his past five congregations but not in his personal relationships was a strange oddity and conundrum. He was all things to all people and he tried to be the same to his wives but that never came easy.
