About the Book

I am focusing on children's books because this is where we need to start in saving our language. I plan on publishing more books for children in the near future. My books will be in written form and audio format so children can read along as I tell the story. It will not only be educational it will be fun for children to learn another language especially for our Blackfeet children who do not know their language. I chose to translate Goldilock and the Three Bears from English to Blackfoot because the book is classic and geared toward children which is my focus.

About the Author

As a fluent speaker of the Blackfoot Language or can be referred to as an Algonquian language, I want to do my part in saving our language from extinction. Our people, the Blackfeet Nation, which consists of four reservations, 3 located in Alberta, Canada and 1 in Montana, is slowly losing our language which is a part of our identity. The Blackfoot Language was never in written form until Linguist, Don G. Frantz with the assistance of several elders from the four Blackfeet Reservations published the Blackfoot Grammar book and the 1st & 2nd editions of the Blackfoot Dictionary. I developed my own curriculum using these books to teach the Blackfoot Language. By Using Don Frantz's method, one can learn to read and write the language and by doing this learn how to speak the language. I taught Blackfoot at Darrell Kipp's Blackfeet Immersion School, Moccasin Flat School, teaching children ages 3 to 5; the Blackfeet Community College teaching adults and the Blackfeet Headstart Program, all located on the Blackfeet Reservation located in Browning, MT
