About the Author

The Chef

I started working in a professional kitchen when I was sixteen. I started as a dishwasher, but soon after that, I got my first chef jacket and started working as a chef.

My first job in a professional kitchen was at Kea Hotels in Akureyri, Iceland. Soon after I started, I met my mentor, Haraldur Már Pétursson. Today he is one of my best friends. I was on his team for some time and he showed me how to work and use different techniques. He opened my mind to cooking. I owe him my gratitude for life for these years at Hotel Kea.

I worked there for a few years, and after I finished chef school, I have been working at few other restaurants around Iceland.

These books are my next project. It has always been my dream to make a cookbook.

Cook Your Ideas is put together with some easy recipes and tips for the reader.

When I was learning, I read cookbooks and wrote down every idea that popped in to my head—ideas about flavor and combinations. I hope the reader of these books does the same.
