The night’s air was crisp and fresh. The stars looked like tiny diamonds. The breeze caressed my face. This was a perfect night. But my life was a mess. I was in the backseat hoping to awake from a horrible nightmare that I knew would never go away, ever. My life was a nightmare where I threw everything away with no thought of how others would be affected by my actions. I envied the breeze that slid across my face; it was present yet not visible. But I was. This was my reality. All that was lodged in my head was an urgency to escape, not only from authorities, but from a destructive state of mind, a spiritual coma and a life full of violence and darkness. I needed to escape, to be free of delirium. At barely twenty years old I felt worn and torn by life’s obstacles and spiritual dead-ends which my own suicidal hands had orchestrated. I was ruled by a rage as furious as a hail of guilty bullets in an innocent direction. I was tired. But the damage was done – no more fighting prophecies of my tomorrows by elders. I wore my iniquities in my heart and in my prison file.
