At dead of night a young Lakeland farm hand is crossing a remote fell after a stag party. It's icily cold and the fell is deserted. But, suddenly, he spots a figure moving near a megalithic marker stone. Terrified he goes to investigate and discovers and man about to die after committing suicide. What happens next draws the farmhand into a compelling plot of deceit, death, romance and brutality. About the Author

JOHN WILFORD spent his career in television journalism working on live news programmes for ITV, Sky News and BBC World. For many years he also wrote sport for The Observer newspaper. Now he spends his time writing books, poems and plays. He also enjoys acting and directing plays. He has three children and seven grandchildren and lives in Leeds.
