It is tall; it is short or somewhere in between

When you see one then another and another
There are many on the scene

Unique hues of color like browns, reds, whites,
Blacks and yellows

Beautiful blues, greens, browns and grays
Like the brilliance of the soul these are windows

When you take a closer look at all the works of color
One is like the other in one way or another

He enhanced them more, gave them hair of various color
All different but alike in some way or other

Inside he used red to sustain them
A wonder isn’t it? A color symbol of love

Breaking hearts

Hearts of shields, blacker then skin
hateful desires burning within
greater nation greater sin
search out bravery who will stand?
against brutality upon the land
superior blessings of horrific stance
entwined in a deadly dance
anticipating as sweet romance
without regard to innocence
young men, old men
when will it end?
breaking hearts again and again
who will care now? did anyone care then?
not just Africans, but Americans
the one within is more then skin
in his image a human being
flesh and blood not a machine
a soul who dare to dream
dreams of justice for all men
not a few counted on one hand
give everyone a chance
bold new city greater sin
bless no more horrific stance
desire no more as sweet romance
put an end to the deadly dance
