Gladiator Leaders: Don’t Drink the Flavor Aid is an inspirational Model and Guide for the Proper Development of Public and Private Leadership on all levels. However, if the aspirants of leadership are to achieve their rightful place among the ranks of leaders, they must have the courage to forsake, The Herd Mentality. The Herd Mentality is the “Flavor Aid” of mental disarmament. Yet, it is introduced to The Freshmen leaders as the “path or drink of choice” to political prosperity and longevity. They are trained to go along to get along. In essence, newly elected leaders are taught, if you are willing to give up the "I" in individual or Icon and behave as a group or body, you can have a long career of public service. Consequently, Bureaucrats and administrative personnel train politicians to perform like them. The Mandatory Training Session for newly elected officials is the “Loud Bark of Inadequacy” you hear when, “The Tail Wags the Dog.” Leaders should be taught to lead, not join the herd and wait for permission to act. Gladiator Leaders Don’t Drink the Flavor Aid. They know bureaucratic and administrative thinking destroys the core fabric of an elected leader’s ability to perform his duties. Why else would politicians wait around to be told what to do? Gladiator Leadership has twenty-four proven steps that when actively employed can make an Individual Leader capable of introducing abstract ideals into the public arena and transforming them into winning Policies, Ordinances and laws. When properly utilized, the twenty-four steps work 24/7. The implementation of the twenty-four steps is subject to timing, but, they are not diminished by time. We hope to encourage our Institutions of Learning to advance the debate on the need for proper training and retraining of Elected Officials and transition the introduction and development of Gladiator Leadership Training into the private sector.

About the Author
A. K. Hasan is a leadership anomaly. His “Unconform” approach to leadership led to his election to a school board at twenty-six years old. He was the youngest person ever elected to serve on that board. At twenty-seven, he was elected president of the board. He was the first African American elected and youngest ever to serve as president. Hasan was later elected to a city council. After sixteen years outside politics and the limelight, he reemerged and was elected to a one-year term on the school board. Prior to Hasan being elected to public office, he navigated a number of obstacles as a community activist. He emerged as the key community spokesperson against and later for magnet schools. He remains an avid advocate for magnet schools to this day. Each of the three magnet schools Hasan helped to create has earned a number-one ranking among magnet schools in the United States.
