I told Beenie everything from the very beginning. I told him about my parents, and about my brother Richard who was only two years older than I; that had a life completely different from mine. I told him about my sister Hugrishia, who was strung out on heroine as we spoke. I told Beenie about me, my addiction to alcohol, and my addiction to money. I told him about the Crips, and about the Mexican that I killed for fun when I was too young to buy cigarettes. I told him about Bozo and Mad-Dog and Killer, and the rest of the O.G. Crips that I felt left the gang in my hands. I told him about when D-Smoke and I used to dance for money on Venice Beach. I told him the story about Little Woody, who got killed by the Circle City Piru’s, and I explained to him how our retaliation and of the Bloods that died because of Woody’s death. I explained to him that I shot Little Mad-Dog in front of all the Front Street Crip members; and I told him why I did it. I told him about Baby Bootsy who snitched on me in the state of Oregon, who nobody ever heard from again. I even told Beenie about my five-year old son in St. Louis, that nobody knew about him except for me and my son’s mother; my biological son born to a married woman and her husband. I spoke of the places that I had been and of the lives that I ruined along the way. I told Beenie about Bry-dog and Tee-Dog and P-Dog, and the gang of Dogs that I left in Bend, Oregon. I told him about the life I took in Omaha, Nebraska; that after I kicked-in the man’s door and beat him to a pulp, he thought I was joking, and he lost his life because of his misjudgment – a murder I could never have predicted. I told him about Will who almost lost his life after I rushed him through the Game immaturely; and of Indio who lost his life for being in the Game too long. And I told Beenie something that I had never had a chance to tell the people I had just mentioned. I told Beenie I was sorry.
