South Georgia – “Dog Days” – August, 1967, David Wiggins, then a mere eight year old boy, had a brief, but lasting encounter with an Eastern Diamond Back Rattlesnake. This “chance” meeting would make a “forever”change and jeopardize both the lives of David and the snake.; each having effects that would last for all time.
About the Author
About the Author Sue Garcia is an ESOL teacher at Claxton Elementary School in Claxton, Georgia. She has earned a Bachelor’s Degree in Early Childhood Education with a Masters Degree in TESOL. She has been teaching for 25 years. “Chosen to Rattle” is Mrs. Garcia’s first book. She currently lives in Claxton, Georgia, with her husband, Gonzalo, their pets, Bailey, Snow and Scooter. About the Illustrator Patrice H. Nelson lives in Claxton, Georgia with her husband Byron, a Claxton native, and her toy pomeranian Emmie. She is a three time graduate of Georgia Southern University and has worked with students with special needs for 19 years. She is currently a School Psychologist with the Appling County School System. Although drawing and painting have been a hobby of hers for years, this is her first time illustrating a book cover.
