About the Book

Echoes of Mercy, Whispers of Love, opens up my spiritual quest, encapsulated with the word Sabali (meaning wisdom or patience in Bambara). Bambara is spoken in Mali, West Africa. Wisdom I believe is organic, so it grows with our life experiences over time, and with that in mind this book is very organic. It starts with my early thoughts mostly philosophical, then it takes you on a deeper spiritual journey. My passion for writing was suddenly rekindled while on retreat at Ashburnham Place (Battle, East Sussex), following my resignation from a career in work-based learning in August 2013. While there I couldn’t keep my experience to myself, so I started posting my thoughts on LinkedIn. By using the LinkedIn App on my iPhone I was forced to make every word work very hard, because the limit for Status Update was only seven hundred characters — who said necessity was the mother of inventions? No matter where I am, or how tired I feel the night before, once that alarm goes off I wake up with this surge of inspiration and I start writing expressly using the WordPress App on my iPhone. This book is alive and breathing with every breath I take. Enjoy!

About the Author

I am best described as: eagle-eyed, a deep thinker, and a catalyst. My interests include music, politics, history, culture, business, economics, religion, philosophy, art, photography, technology, science, fashion, books and anthropology... I’ll have to leave it there I’m afraid before you get bored! I am blessed to have been brought up in a home with deep appreciation for life, faith and music. My parents had a very diverse collection of music; Afro-beat, country, jazz, soul, gospel, hymns, blues, hi-life, rock, native African, Latin beats, calypso, reggae, pop… The legend has it that they had just got back from one of their usual nights out with friends when my Mum went into labour! I guess I must have been jamming well before I stepped into the stage of life — chortle! Dad used to wrap up his working week on his Akai and Sansui sets, dropping tracks while enjoying food and drinks with friends. They were so cool: I couldn’t wait to grow-up! I had a Damascene Conversion in the summer of 1993, then the real adventure began! I have had my slip-ups, seasons of doubt, pain and gain. So, I might not be where I’m supposed to be — who is to say where that is anyway? Hey, I’m sure glad I’m not where I used to be. I am married to Dennisia, and we are blessed with five children; Ezra, Jahaziel, Jeshurun, Evangeline and Chloe. With their support in March 2014, I started pastoring a growing, diverse and dynamic community of seekers in Bexley, Greater London (Healingspringsfellowship). We also created a foundation in November 2013 (Abundant Life foundation) to help the poor and less privileged. With inroads through churches in Sierra Leone, and support from our friends in England, we have been able to provide scholarships to thirteen children and two shipment of clothes. We are also in the process of developing partnerships with charities in London for support to the homeless and rough sleepers.
