Muskrat As the sun slowly disappears behind the trees, linear streaks of light move upon the undulating waters of the pond, with a barely discernible gurgle bubbles appear among the statuesque lilies, gliding gracefully led by a black nose and twitching whiskers a brown mat of fur moves upon the water, I watch as an ever increasing wake shimmers in the waning moments of day, now in the quickly diminishing light the muskrats wake flattens out, night has come and the muskrat has returned home. About the Book
Each day I take our husky Louie for a walk on the path to ponds edge, when we return home I write about what I have seen. These poems are filled with many characters from owls to dragonflies and even deer. We have encountered darkness, fog, rain, wind, heat, humidity and sub-zero cold, the one constant in all of our adventures together is life. Ah Life, large as the universe small as an ant, filled with texture, light, shadows, sound, humor and dreams. Come with Louie and I on our journeys to ponds edge, it's a place nearby, your own back yard.
About the Author
L.C. Strand has been writing for over forty years, his inspiration comes from the incredible beauty, humor and intrinsic wonder that exists in our everyday lives. He has been fortunate enough to have lived twelve years with cancer and knows how important it is to treat each and every day as if it were his last.
