About the Book

“His first name is Billy. His last name is Stankinsworth. That’s… Billy… Stankinsworth. That’s the best name of the coolest best friend, EVER.” Embracing those energies around children, visible to others or not, carries on their stories and validates the children with whom they interact. Billy lives on within the pages of this book. “Billy was a very real part of our lives since Kelly could talk. He was with us everywhere; in the car, while we played, when she was sad. He shared holidays and birthdays. Billy was so vivid to her, that I never questioned his true ‘reality.’ To her, he was real and never interfered with ’real life.’ Kelly has always remembered Billy fondly, and has often reassured children with her experience of him.’’ .- LuAnn Hufnagle

About the Author

Kelly Hufnagle Miller has been reaching out to Spirit all her life, so sharing this story, as one of her first interactions, is particularly important to her. Kelly has spent the last decade teaching kindergarten using her certificates in Early Childhood Education, Elementary Education, Library Media Science, and English as a Second Language (ESL). In her time outside of the classroom she is serves on the Positive Behavior Support team, steering committee for the Young Women's Futures Symposium, visits venues for author visits, and works with both children and adults who have had extra-sensory experiences and their own interactions with Spirit. She teaches workshops on relaxation techniques, alternative medicine practices and elements of natural living. In addition, she enjoys cooking, and finding her inner peace while living in central Pennsylvania with her husband Brandon, and fuzzy family members, Lincoln and Maggie. Her first children’s Book, The Monster in the Washer (and the Disappearing Socks), was published 3 years ago. LuAnn Hufnagle is Kelly’s Mom and has always enjoyed reading and drawing for Kelly and her sister. As the sisters grew up, there was less need for her to read to them or to create characters for them. Having recently retired, it was with great pleasure that she was asked to draw Billy for this book.
