About the Book

If you have an enquiring mind and want to learn how bobbing ostriches can reverse global warming, and how many blades were on Occam’s Razor, then this book is for you. If you don’t, and have no interest in finding out why infinity should be abolished, or why you shouldn’t take the first spaceship heading to Alpha Proxima, then it probably isn’t. Although things can change, so you may want to play safe and get the book anyway. Just in case. Either way…

About the Author

Andrew Doble was born in North London in the late 50’s and is now in his late 50’s, a connection which he describes as “meaningless”. Upon qualifying as a Chartered Accountant in 1981, he went to Bermuda on a two-year contract. The attraction of zero income tax proved too strong, and he is still there. From a running background, he developed an interest in triathlon and, at the age of 40, became Bermuda National Champion, an achievement which he credits to intensive training and an ability to pick races where his main competition is either sick or injured. His other interests include travel and music, which explains why he considers the car radio the best invention of all time. An electronic version of his next book - “Thank God I’m an Atheist” - is already with several agencies, including NSA, GCHQ and the Vatican. He has been approached by the RAF, which hopes to exchange its elitist “Per Ardua ad Astra” with the Doble family motto - “Aspire, Perspire, Respire” – which is a mistranslation of the Latin for “Hope Springs Eternal”. A six-figure sum is being discussed although, with Andrew’s aversion to petrol pump pricing, this may be rounded up to the nearest whole pence. He is in a long-term relationship with his wife. They have no children or pets, but do have an extensive wine cellar.
