About the Book

This poetry book is a true labor of blood sweat and tears. It came about when two childhood friends were reunited as adults at a very hard time in their lives. They found they shared the bond, not only of friendship but also the love of words. A way they found to express their innermost feelings dealing with their struggles. This led them to create a book of poetry to share their journey. A friend , also from school offered to share some of his beautiful black- n - white photos to give their words life. So laugh, cry, love and learn and enjoy their words. Come share their lives.

About the Author

SONYA GARVER – A past resident of Railroad , PA for nearly 16 years, Glen Rock PA for many years, and now residing on a small farm in Brogue, PA. She resides there with Martin Shelley, his father, and a black Labrador named Doc. She is the author of the Peanut Butter Jelly Gang children’s book series published by Westbow Press and two poetry books published by Authorhouse Publications. A novel of her life is currently being written. Sonya hopes her books will inspire people to always reach for the stars. Her career began at age 50. As did her life. It’s never to late to live your dreams. ROBERT LEE SHAEFFER JR – From a small town in Railroad, Pennsylvania, I, Robert Lee Shaeffer Jr, son of Robert and Patricia, lived a very unusual life. As a boy I was very competitive and athletic. In my teens abused and unsupported. After high school I felt the need to offer my services to protect and serve our great country. Decorated and discharged, I pursued a career in construction. Starting with a custom home builder, I remember the amazing satisfaction felt by both the owners and the talented people participating on their projects. It was a very gratifying and rewarding career of 30 years. Now in our present struggle to keep our economy afloat, costs are soaring, the housing market in jeopardy, and jobs in the housing market are almost non-existent and unable to support one individual. So, I invited my second passion, which I enjoy but felt awkward in pursuing. There is something magical about stirring the emotions of people through words on paper. I invite you to grab your mood setting drink, that chair that seems to cradle you into your best smile, and read a few pages. Who knows where my thoughts might take you! Enjoy! PAUL G. NACE – Paul G. Nace grew up in south central Pennsylvania where he graduated and continues to live with his wife and two daughters. Photography has been a passionate hobby for many years. Nature photography is the bulk of his hobby but portraiture continues to fascinate him. Playing and listening to music also gives him much pleasure.
