At the End of the Rainbow

Once upon a time there were five sister fairies, who lived at the end of a rainbow in Rainbow Land. The sisters, Sophie, Chloe, Natalie, Daphne, and Lulu lived with their father Wen, mother Zerta, and baby brother Derra. When the children were born, they had no fairy power, because their mother was not a fairy when she married their fairy father. At birth, they were given wings by their grandmother, and when they turn 16, she would give them fairy power. Their grandmother was the Grand Fairy of Rainbow Land, and she was their father’s mother. Without fairy power the girls could only imagine the things they could do, and the tricks they would play on each other. It would be so much fun! The girls loved living in Rainbow Land, because the rainbow was always very bright and beautiful. The moisture at that end of Rainbow Land produced water droplets that allowed it to be seen all day long. It was as if they lived in a world of color. When the sisters were outside they could see all of the rainbow’s vivid colors of red, orange, yellow, green, blue, indigo, and violet. As soon as the girls went inside, it was as if all the colors disappeared from the rainbow. They could not look out their window and see the beautiful colors that they loved so much. The girls did not understand why the colors disappeared when they went inside. They often wondered if this happened to everyone. Was it because none of the children had fairy power? Could it be that the fairy power from everyone else was allowing the girls to see the rainbow while they were outside? Regardless, going inside always made them feel very sad. There had to be a way to make the colors stay when they were inside…… Throughout the years the five sisters tried numerous things to ensure that the colors of the rainbow remained in place. Despite their efforts, nothing had worked; nevertheless, they were all still trying.
