About the Author
Born and raised in the suburbs of Paterson ,New Jersey, he was always drawn to the wildlife of the area, purportedly used to bring his mother almost-daily gifts of snakes, frogs, toads, box, and snapping turtles from Molly Ann’s Brook. Also purportedly, his mother didn’t like wildlife of any kind. After graduating Central High School in the upper 10 percent of his class, he enlisted in the USAF Intelligence Division and served in North Africa and the Middle East. He returned home to USAF SS HQ in San Antonio, Texas; and nine months before his four-year tour was up, he married his wife of fifty-four years, Dorothy. He studied engineering at night and worked with a family relative for eight years and then started his own business in 1968 and went on through acquisitions and mergers to help create the largest engineering company in New Jersey from which he retired in 1995. The byword for all their engineering designs was “Work with mother nature, not against her.” He moved to Florida on a permanent basis in 2003 and selected the lot to build his house, which becomes the basis of the following true stories.
