About the Book
Experiencing (CHOP) Children's Hospital of Philadelphia through the eyes of a one year old is a unique view on every day life in a children's hospital. Machines beeping, doctors and nurses rushing in and out, parents and grand-parents walking down hallways in an exhaustive daze, add to the confusion and noise confronting each small patient. A view through Faith's eyes will give other parents hope for the future when faced with an insurmountable battle. In C.H.O.P, you are not alone! You look around and realize you have the best team on your side. May God bless you with the smallest and biggest of miracles on your journey through this book.
About the Author
I was born in Turners Falls Massachusetts and lived there until the age of 6. My parents moved us to the small town of Windsor New Jersey. I have a sister and three brothers and we grew up country. The town was our playground. It was a place that people cared about you. If you did anything wrong, by the time you returned home, your parents already knew and you were grounded before you hit the door. I finished High-School with 90 other children from surrounding towns and started my adult life with the confidence of every teenager. My grandmother who lived with us was an army nurse in her former years and I guess that is where I learned my passion for helping others. Twenty five years as an EMT/Fire Fighter should prepare you to face any thing. I am a sister, a mom, a grand-mom, an aunt and a great-aunt. Caring for people in an emergency situation had been (SOP) standard operating procedures for me until my Great-niece, Faith, wrapped in my arms, looked up at me with those big hazel eyes. I have never felt so helpless. I have witnessed tragedy and miracles in my career but only as an observer. Here was an actual miracle in my arms. I felt the need to write this book to say "Thank you for your kindness in our time of need". This book is dedicated to all who care for Faith as she grows to the woman we know she will be.
