I’m finally allowed a moment alone. Juniper has invaded my life and most days I feel like I can’t even breathe. I left her in my living room; with records and CDs splayed around her because she’s attempting to make her first mix tape. She didn’t tell me whom it’s for, in fact she shooed me out of my own apartment like I’m the one who stormed in and took over her place. Images from the story Juniper is dictating to me fill my head and I can’t shake these characters from my mind. Are these non-human creatures real? Juniper is real and believe me, I would not have believed faeries were real until I met her.

About the Book
Charlotte's tidy and simple life gets turned on it's side when she loses a poker game to Juniper, a faerie. The anti? Juniper gets to move in with Charlotte while Charlotte writes out a story Juniper tells her: A story of the faerie Queen Arum, of the Dark King, of a magic crystal and of the O'Malley family, who find themselves in the middle of a battle between good and evil. Charlotte's now chaotic life forces her to stretch her limits both socially and emotionally and she finds that maybe she needs a little excitement after all.
About the Author
After spending 17 years in theater and acting out other people's stories, Carmen decided to put her own words on paper. Classes, workshops and 7 years of writing lent to many forms of storytelling, from short plays to screenplays and now to fiction. Having found her strength in fantasy/faerie tales, Carmen is ready to share her first novella. Carmen lives with her husband, two kids, one cat and eight chickens in a small town on the central coast of California. When she is not writing you can find her playing her ukulele, gardening or starting multiple art projects.
