About the Book
You will love the stories of how God finally got his attention as he went through encounters with wild animals, was struck by lightning, went through killer tornadoes, had many encounters with snakes in the wild, etc. He eventually was used by God in many ways which he shares with us as he and his wife ministered to other people’s children through Scouting, foster parenting, adopting abused children, and in church ministry. He eventually was led to peace and because of his path to it he could use his experiences during his earlier life to minister to others that were hurting as he had been. In the later years as God proved time and again of His love for Larry, God was able to utilize all of these stories through the different ministries to inmates in jails, hitch-hikers along the hi-ways, answering phones with the Billy Graham Telephone Ministry, and as he worked to slow down the cultural deterioration of our Nation. If you or someone that you know has had a similar background of growing up under abuse, rejection, and anger, then as you read of Larry’s stories, you can see how God was able to change him, and if you apply those things he was shown, you too can find peace. You will laugh and cry as you see the struggles that he went through. This book is worth the price just for the humor, but it is priceless for the life lessons that he shares with us. May you also find peace.
About the Author
Larry grew up in a family filled with anger, bitterness, rage, and brutality. The stories start with his first memories of being tied under a porch and left there with his brothers and sisters as his parents left for the day. He tells of his childhood and how he tried numerous ways to become someone that he could be proud of, but he always saw himself as ugly and a reject. As he started his own family these were all he had known. How would he ever be able to find peace? He served 8 years in the Air Force working on bombers then fixed x-ray and other medical equipment for GE for the next 33 years as a field service engineer. High stress and long hours made life difficult. He loved his family, but had to find out how to properly function in a family relationship, as well as in the corporate world. The harder he tried, the more he failed to measure up to his own standards, and became a bitter cauldron of rage. It was only after God told him to go and forgive his parents that he started down the road toward finding peace. It was not an easy road nor a quick one. His whole life he had never been at peace with anyone, even himself, and had learned all of the tricks to drive people further from him because when they got too close it always brought more pain. Although the journey this side of Heaven is not over, following God has enabled Larry to find peace with himself, God, and others.
