About the Book

The two stories in this book are designed to help people of all ages with reading and getting a better understanding of the English language. In the first story, a smart little Yorkie puts his brain and nose to work to help his master solve a vexing problem; in the second, a group of animals work together to help one of the smallest make new friends by coming up with a creative solution - with a little assist from their human guardians. Being willing to persevere and help one another are the key ideas in both tales. Engaging and designed for easy reading, the stories will want to be read over and over again.

About the Author

Ms. Kugler began writing in fifth grade. She added music and lyrics to her writing as a teenager. A decision to become an English professor was revised when she discovered creative writing, rather than facts, was her forte. Although music became a main focus in her life, she kept pen and paper handy and wrote whatever struck her or was needed at the time. Not until the year 2000, however did Ms. Kugler decide to become serious about her talent. A single idea blossomed into a set of five continuous tales, and after that, it was one short story or poem after another. After retiring and moving to Arizona, she began writing songs for churches and spiritual development groups, and became a member of the Bullhead City River Writers. Then words really began to flow, in story form, poems, music lyrics and music itself. Her other talents include photography; writing, playing, and teaching music; jewelry making; book editing; and cooking. Ms.Kugler recently moved to Las Vegas, and is working on expanding "The Rescue Place" into a teaching series.
