About the Book

A Mommy’s Love encourages mommies to continue being mommies and to challenge mothers to become mommies. It will equip you in becoming an advocate for your child. Most important, do not be ashamed of having a child with a mental illness. It is important to get your children the help they need before they become adults. It may seem that your family and friends, your child’s school system, the judicial system, social services, state agency, and other government systems are against you, but just know you are not standing alone as long as you have God by your side. Do not fear anyone when it comes to being an advocate and fighting for your child with a mental illness. Never give up on your child, no matter how hard it may seem. If your children see that mommy is giving up on them, they will give up on themselves. You as a mommy are all that your children have. If you do not fight for your children, no one else will. Stay strong, dedicated, firm, be a mommy, parent, and advocate for your child!

About the Author

Myra Hudson has a passion for at-risk youth and all those with mental illness. This passion has led her to take a keen interest in starting her own program to combat the violence that’s destroying our youth and those with mental illness. If she can save at least one person, it will serve as one of her big accomplishments. Myra is a strong African-American woman who keeps a smile in the midst of good and bad times. She’s practical, realistic, optimistic, compassionate, independent, a self-starter, a hard worker and a perfectionist. As an adolescent and a young adult, she overcame many obstacles in her life. She turned her negative experiences into positive messages and experiences that will render hope and encouragement for other adults, youth, and the community. At age twenty-one, she accepted Christ into her life. She put God, her children, and others before herself. She has a big heart in lending a helping hand to others. Myra proudly recognizes her accomplishments: becoming an author, mommy, wife, licensed certified nursing assistant, pediatric care assistant, certified medical assistant, business woman, advocate for children, completing training with the Parent Leadership Training Institute, community volunteer, customer service coordinator, motivational speaker, former director of a youth and recreation center and a former department manager for a department store. She also won the runner-up for the Laura Robey Award in grade school for displaying “Exemplary Character and Attitude.”
