Lulu, a tiny spider, woke up from a deep sleep and looked outside his house. The morning was sunny with a slight warm breeze, and the bright orange sun was barely above the hill. As he glanced across the land, his five eyes squinted from the bright sun. Looking around the land, he saw the beauty of the nature, which little the land provided. There were many different kinds of lands’ where other’s lived. Lulu had walked passed where the other’s lived, and saw many brightly colored flowers, different shades of grass, and many trees. He noticed that his land did not have as many trees or flowers as some of the others had. But to him, the land that he lived on was beautiful. Lulu had a positive outlook on life. There was never a day where he did not notice something wonderful around him. Just a simple plant to someone else, was a miracle plant in Lulu’s eyes.
As he looked up at the large tree above his home, he saw the branches and leaves sway slowly with the wind. The dark green leaves on the tree were huge, but he noticed there were also tiny bright green leaves growing. He slowly climbed up the tree. Up close, he noticed that one of the small leaves was as little as a pea. He smiled, and held the bright green leaf in his hand. Lulu looked down from the tree. The plants on the ground, from above, seemed to look so much smaller. So being way up high in the tree, made him feel so much bigger than he really was. Many colorful trees and plants were far away into the horizon. Into the horizon was a land called, The Standard Society Land. His mother had spoken about this land. He remembered hearing her say, that it was a beautiful place to live in. But she would also say that he could never go on the land, because it was unacceptable. Lulu never understood why she said these things, but never asked her any questions.
The wind swept an essence of flowers from far away, up through the tree branches. He could smell a scent of Lavender that swept past him. Looking around the land, he saw a patch of Lavender plants not that far from his home. Lulu always felt relaxed when he smelt flowers, and heard the soft sway of the wind brushing against nature. The grass on the ground, which was around the tree, was a light green color. The large tree that he lived by, was only the third tree that remained on the land. Lulu looked up into the sky, and noticed grey clouds starting to cover the sun. He could smell a scent of rain in the air. Lulu also loved the scent of rain.
Just as he smelt the scent of rain in the air, he saw Shia and Maple pop their heads out of the hole in the ground. The hole in the ground was the entrance to their home. Under the ground, inside their home, was a huge hole. The walls were made out of dirt, rocks, and roots from the tree. They had very few possessions. Their home contained a table, a few kitchen utensils, a clock, leaves, and blankets their mother always knitted. They did not have the nicest home, but they were proud of the home they lived in. Shia and Maple were his two sisters, who were the same age as Lulu. His sisters had a beautiful appearance, and a beautiful personality. Shia and Maple were tiny fuzzy light blue spiders, with dark blue eyes, and eight legs. They always seemed happy, and always had a smile on their face. Shia had more of a shy personality, while Maple had more of an outgoing, and talkative personality.
Lulu saw his sisters looking around the land for him. He stayed quiet, smiling to himself, while hiding behind a large leaf. They walked out of their home onto the land, and started calling for Lulu. Lulu chuckled quietly to himself, staying still. The spiders’ loved to play hide and seek. Except this time, they did not even know they were playing this game with him. He slowly peeked one of his five eyes from the leaf, to see what his sisters’ were doing. While peeking from behind the leaf, he saw his two brothers Lenya and Ferro, who started coming out of their home.
Lenya and Ferro were also the same age as Lulu, Shia, and Maple. Their appearance was handsome, and they had a wonderful personality. Lenya and Ferro also were tiny fuzzy light blue spiders, with eight dark blue eyes, with eight legs. Ferro and Lenya had an ornery streak in them. They liked to joke around and have fun. Ferro seemed to have more of a leader’s personality, while Lenya’s personality was more laid back.
Lulu had a different appearance than his sisters’ and brothers’. He was a little fuzzy dark blue spider, with a white stripe down his back, with only had five black eyes, and eight legs. Lulu knew that he looked different than his sisters’ and brothers’, but he loved who he was. Their mother, Shaman, always taught them that it was special to be unique. Shaman always told them, that every one of them was unique in their own way, and that not one of them was exactly alike, but in the same aspect, they all had something in common with each other. So Shia, Maple, Lenya and Ferro never felt like they were any different than Lulu. Lulu also never felt like he was any different than they were.
