Charlie, Chase’s best friend, knew he had to think fast about what he was going to do with her body. He was pretty sure he would sink her in the Ohio river. He knew of a scenic spot on the river where he used to fish. He just wanted a little more time with her while she was dead. She was his first victim. He did not mean to kill her, but she left him no choice once she had seen his face and could identify him. He did not want to have sex with a dead woman that was not what he was about. He was about causing terror. What he did want to do was lay next to her until her body had become cold. She started to get stiff. He savored the coldness. It was like the coldness he felt in his heart. He thought his heart was made of ice. He held her hand and he told her how beautiful she was. He told her nice things. Things that he could never tell a live woman and mean them. He wanted to keep something of hers to remind him of how special she was to him. He decided that he would keep a lock of her beautiful hair as a memento. He did not like the word trophy, at least not for her. She was his first victim, therefore special. He rolled her over to her back. He made two small ponytails on the back of her hair underneath, and then he cut the locks of hair. He didn’t know why he felt like he had to hide the spot where the hair was cut from because she would be unrecognizable soon, once the water and creatures of the river took what it would. He cut a lock for himself and one for Chase. He wanted to share something of this first experience of killing a woman with his best friend. He turned her back over on her back. He brushed her long, brown hair down over her shoulders. He pushed her tongue back into her mouth. He shut her mouth. He did not close her eyes until the very last. He could see himself in her glossy dead eyes and he was so happy that he was the last person she ever saw. He felt immortal now somehow, now that he got her prized virginity and that he would forever be the light in her eyes. He lay with her for a long time after, just staring into her eyes and reliving the intimate experience that they both had shared together.

“BIO” J.C. Tolliver J.C. Tolliver was born and raised in Cincinnati, Ohio during the 1960’s and 1970’s. She is a nurse, artist, and now a novelist. She has worked with many types of patients, families, and their relationships to each other. She feels she is more than qualified to write this type of book. Ms. Tolliver now lives in beautiful Indiana. She has raised four children and now has eight grandchildren. She and her husband still live in Indiana with their two dogs. This is Ms. Tolliver’s second novel, a sequel to Psycho Path I.
