About the Book

Path of Eloquence (Nahjul-Balāgha) is not just another book—it is a timeless masterpiece of wisdom, eloquence, and insight. Revered by millions worldwide, it is regarded as second only to the Holy Qur’an in its depth and literary excellence. Compiled by Al-Sharīf ar-Radi, this collection presents the sermons, letters, and sayings of Imām Ali ibn Abū Tālib—cousin and son-in-law of the Prophet Muhammad—who played a pivotal role in shaping Islamic thought, governance, and spiritual philosophy.

This book offers more than just history; it immerses readers in the political and religious upheavals of the first Islamic century, shedding light on civil wars, theological debates, and the complexities of leadership. For lovers of language, it showcases the richness and rhetorical power of classical Arabic. For seekers of wisdom, it provides timeless guidance on justice, ethics, governance, and personal fulfillment.

Whether you are a scholar exploring Islamic theology, a student of Arabic literature, or simply someone searching for deeper meaning in life, Path of Eloquence offers profound insights into faith, morality, and the human condition. This bilingual edition, with both Arabic text and English translation, ensures accessibility to a wide audience, allowing readers to experience the power of Imām Ali’s eloquence firsthand. Read it, reflect on it, and judge for yourself.

About the Author

The author of this book, Yasin T. al-Jibouri, has so far written, edited and translated 57 books and other publications details and some cover images of which are included on pages 43 – 89 of his other book titled Mary and Jesus in Islam which AuthorHouse has already published (ISBN 9781468523201 or 9781468523218). He earned his graduate degree in English from an American university, taught English in Iraq, Saudi Arabia and the United States and is presently working on Volume One of his other major work titled Dictionary of Islamic Terms. This book, Nahjul-Balagha: Path of Eloquence, is one of his many translations and may be the best yet. Its original text goes back to the first Islamic history (the 6th Century A.D), so it poses a great challenge to any translator. It is divided into three volumes, this is the first of them. It is hoped that Volume Three will contain pictures of precious historic relics treasured at the Shrine housing his sacred body in al-Najaf al-Ashraf, Iraq, which will see the light for the first time.
