Not so long ago, a pirate captain peered wondrously at his treasure. “Imagine that,” he muttered to himself, “finding a dinosaur egg in Australia. That should fetch a pretty penny!” He ordered his men to take it aboard their ship. After the pirates had secured their unusual treasure, they continued on their adventure around the world. They were so busy exploring countries that no one seemed to notice the crack that had started to form in the dinosaur egg. Then, one warm summer day, the egg hatched! Out popped … a puppy? The pirates were in shock! How could a puppy hatch from a dinosaur egg? Despite their disbelief, they decided to keep him.
