About the Book

This book is about a little boy called Sam—a very grown-up five-year-old! Being inquisitive like most young children of Sam’s age, he was always asking his parents questions. Was I good when I was a baby? What did I do? He loved to hear the funny stories of some of the things he got up to when he was younger. This book reveals memories that were passed to Sam from his mum, dad, and not forgetting grandma. Sam tells you in his own words, some of the things he did from birth up to being five years old.

About the Author

My name is Pam Hazlehurst, age fifty-seven, from the United Kingdom. I am a wife, mother, and grandmother. I am also a respected member of my community. I am employed as a teaching assistant at Whitehill Primary School. My role as a teaching assistant is a very fulfilling one, and my day-to-day role includes caring and supporting early-year children. It is the love I hold for my grandchildren and the children past and present at Whitehill Primary that has inspired me to put pen to paper and write something that would make them laugh. There is nothing better than seeing children smile and hearing them giggle when you hold their attention with a book. The idea for this book came to me when I first saw my newborn second grandson Cristiano James, CJ for short. He was born in the hospital, and I saw him an hour later. The first thing he reminded me of was not his mum or dad—whom he resembled—but, in fact, a wrinkly pink prawn. This, of course, led me to writing this book.
