About the Book
This book is an ambitious blue print of ideas to unite all the people of the world according to the divine teachings of peace and Tawhid (an Arabic word for “unity” and “universalism”). The divine teachings of peace and Tawhid are universal teachings and practices of Islam. They apply to all people of all religions, in all compartments of their lives. The main purpose of the divine teachings of peace and Tawhid is to establish “the all truth, one reality and purity of the universe.” These teachings do not only combine the true teaching of all the books and prophets of God, but they also combine all the true teachings of all the compartments of our lives, secular and religious. This book is written in the Islamic context, and extols and persuades the Muslim society to return to the basis and cornerstone of Islam—that is, to establish peace and unity and one brotherhood. Furthermore, this book is not only for the Muslims since peace and unity is a universal concept. Every person—whether Christian, Jew, Hindu, Buddhist, or from any other religion—is looking for peace, and what better way to attain this peace than by uniting and unifying all people of all religions of the world.
About the Author
A. K. Sayed was born in Glencoe in South Africa on the November 23, 1941. In his youth, he was a founding member and secretary of the Muslim Youth Movement (MYM) and secretary and trustee of the Buffelsdale Muslim Society in Tongaat (KZN). In 1961 and then for the next eighteen years, he was employed at the South African Sugar Association Experiment Station at Mount Edgecombe (KZN), first working in the agronomy department and then in the biometrics and records department. During the 1980s, he owned a chain of bakeries. Furthermore, during the last forty years, Mr. Sayed has written numerous letters defending Islam in the mass media. Some of the letters are entitled “Islam Is Compatible with Democracy,” “The Arab/Israeli Conflict Is Not Complicated,” “Islam Is Less Flawed than the Constitution of South Africa,” “All Fundamentalism Is Evil,” “Godless Science Is an Impaired Vision,” “South Africa’s Diversity Is Its Strength.” In addition, Mr. Sayed has lived through the apartheid era and also witnessed the making of the new rainbow nation. Thus, he has a very broad and deep knowledge and experience of science, religion, politics, and business, which has helped him immensely to understand the true teachings of peace and Tawhid (the divine teachings of unity and universality.
