About the Book
Fifty students from Mather Heights Elementary School joined Power of the Pencil and envisioned a simple circle. What would their circle become? Where did it come from? What would happen to it next? Power of the Pencil authors quickly learned that a simple idea could be transformed into an emotion, a vision, or a story. They realized that all it would take was their imagination. . . and the Power of a Pencil.
About the Author
Tracey Buffalo is passionate about children’s books and has taught elementary school for nine years. She had a vision to guide students of all ages to become published authors, so she began an after-school club for aspiring authors called, "Power of the Pencil." The club encouraged students to put their best ideas down on paper … with a pencil! Fifty Kindergarten through sixth grade students from Mather Heights Elementary School joined the Power of the Pencil, yearning to become authors. These writers quickly learned that a simple idea could transform into a vision or an emotion, and ultimately, a story. They realized that the only necessities would be their imagination and hard work … and the power of a pencil.
