She picks me up when life gets me down I feel like I'm in heaven when she's around She is beside me when life has no certain plan She brought a boy into the world and taught him to be a man She guarded me over the years And helped me through my darkest fears Casting her own aside So that she can help me with mine Taking the bad with the good By my side she has always stood She would lick her thumb and wipe the dirt from my face And teach me that home is more than just a place
