A Surprise Party for James

About the Book

Two friends, John and Kaycee, are planning a surprise birthday party for James. He will be turning 7 years old! In a huge a huge yellow bus, they travel through the days of the week to pick up the friends on the guest list. Little did they know each town would be full of exciting sights, sounds, and smells along the way. This book was written for my youngest son, James and all his friends at the Johnson Family Daycare in California. John, one of the main characters in the book is actually James’ older brother who suffered with asthma when he was younger, so you will see an inhaler in his pocket.

About the Author

Paula D. Golden began writing during the time her sons were in childcare. Fifteen years later, she is able to share her works with her intended audience – children. A talented artist by trade, Paula’s writing brims with deliciously vivid images, and fun wordplay is always sprinkled in to enchant her young readers. Although her journey to publication has been slow, her passion remains. A mother of three young adult sons, she resides in Winnetka, Calif. Paula is a graduate of California State University Long Beach. Currently, she is employed full-time in healthcare, part-time in early childhood education, and attends Pierce College in pursuit of an Early Childhood Development certification. Paula also writes poetry for children, young readers and parents. Expect more titles to be released by this author.
