About the Author

Narinder S. Attri’s professional career spanned over forty years . During this period, he became an engineering professor, a researcher of note, and an author of over forty technical papers including two inventions. He became a pathfinder in the world of aeronautics and astronautics. He served in several Boeing companies starting with the Boeing Commercial Company (Also where he ended) then he continued on to the Boeing Aerospace Company, Boeing Military Airplane Company, and finally, Boeing Advanced Systems. He started the Boeing career as a research engineer and soon became a group leader where he was promoted to becoming a supervisor. Narinder rapidly rose to become a chief engineer of the mechanical and electrical departments. Five years later he was positioned as the director of all technology departments within the Boeing Military Airplane Company. Then, he became member of the Executive payroll. Five years later he became general manager that was in charge of a division. Ultimately, he led three separate, top secret, divisions of the Boeing Military Airplane and Boeing Advanced Systems. Finally, during the final years he served on special assignments in the Boeing Commercial Airplane Company, to implement an advanced quality system. In his final assignment he led the development of a revolutionary Electrical and Electronic Preferred Process which became basis of Boeing-777 & Boeing-737. They were the next generation family of Airplanes with a paperless design, build, and support. Now it is in use on all Boeing Commercial Airplanes. Narinder was appointed as a special advisor to the US Air Force’s Aeronautical Systems Division with honorary rank of Lieutenant General. He served in this capacity for twenty-two years. (1972-1994) He was awarded the American Institute of Aeronautics and Astronautics Edward C Wells Award for technical and Management Excellence. “For Developing Team & Technology Leading to a Boeing win on an Advanced Tactical Fighter.” Currently the Advanced Tactical Fighter goes by the name F-22 or The Raptor. He served on many technical and industry technical committees, for example the ASME, AIAA, ATA, IATA, and the SAE-A5. Narinder is married to Indra Attri, a loving and supporting partner. In 2010, they celebrated their 50th anniversary. They have a daughter named Bindu Karen Attri Gerlt and a son named Steve Attri. Bindu is an IT manager at Texas Instruments and has a daughter named Nastasha Gerlt, 18, and a son named Deitrich Gerlt, 16. Steve has two daughters named Marisa Attri, 13, and Sarina Attri, 10. Narinder wrote his Autobiography “His Journey-From India to USA” – published by Author House in 2004. “Pursuit and Protection of Knowledge” is a direct result of Narinder’s love of God, Family, Friends, and Society. As he says “life is a journey which has only one real destination–to know the “Creator”.”
