As Sophie gazed out to the ocean something twitched and suddenly caught her eye, it was a glimpse of a dolphin’s tail circling the shore. Sophie looked closer; the dolphin then somersaulted into the air as if performing tricks as the little girl watched on in awe. Then it vanished as quickly as it had arrived. The warm air and sea breeze had felt magical that morning. Sophie could hear Aunt Rosemary calling her from the house for lunch. As she ran back up the path, Sophie knew it wouldn’t be long before she was back at the big blue sea once more..............

About the Book
A beautiful friendship forms between lonely seven-year-old Sophie and her magical dolphin friend Starlight. A chance meeting together at sea near her reclusive Aunt Rosemary’s house takes them on many underwater adventures. Together they explore an emotional journey to learn about friendship and life.
About the Author
My love and enjoyment of writing began in primary school at five years old, and I have been writing ever since. After leaving school and college with a GNVQ in health and social care, I worked within this industry as a family support worker. During this time, I switched careers to go into photographic modeling work, which lasted six years; most of my location shoots were down the South Coast. My interest and love of the sea, countryside, and marine life developed at this time, and I began to write poems about these subjects. I have had various poems published by Forward Press including an anthology of poems. Also some work published by Cherry Orchard Publishing and First Time Magazine UK. After meeting my future husband, in Middlesex, we got married, and I started writing my first novel when I was eight months pregnant with my first child. We moved to the South Coast, East Sussex. Having raised my son for four years and spending many times in children’s bookshops and libraries. I decided to revisit my writing work and complete my first children’s book, Dreaming of Dolphins, when my son started school. In this time, I was expecting my second child and had started to write a sequel. Currently my sons are five years old and seven months old. My family and two cats all live close to the sea in East Sussex.
