BEST THING SINCE CORNBREAD I am the best thing since hot water corn bread- My Ego Says Regardless of my less than muscular figure –N- never mind My hair that hasn’t seen a comb since last December I AM THE SHIT… So don’t ask me if I want something for my chap lips Or suggest I gain weight to make my clothes fit--- I’m still sexy Because my ego says I’m the best thing since cornbread and The flyiest thing seen since Shaft when he had no hair… THE LOSS OF A FATHER I know we all know someone who lost a Brother, Mother, Sister, Father And, or best friend at some point and time which is life. But when you were choosing I lost a father, a best friend, a mentor And the guidance that I was accustomed to having by my side Molding me into the man that I am. So I smile when I cry looking at our memories in every tear drop Appreciating the good times and ignoring the wonders of the whys. Hoping every tear that falls soils the earth with our good times And helps future fathers and sons through the hardships and long nights! I took heed to your lesson about the cycle of life, so I smile for you now. With ambitions to make you more than proud as I intend to carry on your Bloodline as if I was the son of Anthony Williams, holding a glass of X.O –n- blowing a cloud…. God must have needed a strong angel by his side to help watch over me now.

A literary enthusiasts, Phillip James a.k.a. Legand, has shown interest in writing since he was a freshman in high school. Starting off like most emotional youth with short stories, Legand quickly developed his style of descriptive visualization. Influnced by life and the vibrations of it's past such as; Hip-Hop Culture, the sonnets of Shakespeare's and the undeniable talent of Saul Williams. Poetry has become a second language for his expression. Currently living in Kansas City, MO working as a chef. Working as a chef allows him to observe and interact with many types of people which provides him with substance for his spoken words.
