Spirit of the Horse

An eagle flew overhead today
Carrying its message
From the earth --
Calling my spirit to soar.
The land calls,
Beckoning us to ride free
Among the dusty foothills
Of the Rockies,
Turquoise blue skies overhead,
Craggy peaks my back,
And you by my side.
The earth speaks through
The Spirit of the Horse,
Hooves beating the rhythm
Of our souls.
An eagle flies overhead,
But all becomes clear
On the back of a horse
Whose spirit connects mine
To the earth,
To the sky,
And to the woman I love.
