Humphrey was a turtle. A very lonely turtle, but he didn’t know why he was so lonely. One day he decided that he would ask Tucker Rabbit. "Tucker is always bouncy and quick. Maybe he can tell me why I am so lonely," thought Humphrey. That very morning Humphrey was sitting in his house when Tucker made his usual trip through town. As the rabbit was bouncing past his house, Humphrey called him over. "Tucker, could you tell me why I am so lonely?" asked Humphrey. "Hmmm..." said Tucker. "Let's see. I am never lonely when I am eating Mrs. Sherman's warm and delicious blueberry muffins. “I have never tasted Mrs. Sherman's warm and delicious blueberry muffins,” said Humphrey. It always took him too long to get across town. All of the muffins were gone by the time he reached Mrs. Sherman's house.
