Ise had heard it all before. Everyone was anxious, but she had a way to find out what was going on. Her mother had been an original survivor who had been alive during the taint and had been a witness to the very beginning. Now that Ise was in a position to use her status as a time chronicler, author, reporter, and explorer, she hoped her knowledge from her mother might lead to the truth about their planet Veroldterra and what the future might hold. Ise had spent her whole life shrouding her identity, using different names throughout the centuries. While she was wary of the Red Ruler, there were mysteries which needed answers that no one wanted to ask, but he would know answers. Ise knew an audience with him would lead to her becoming an “Official Citizen”. Did she want that? In her experience, anyone who was interviewed by the Red Ruler came away impressed with him, and seemed inordinately happy to do his bidding. But only an interview with him would answer her questions.
