About the Author

Amanda Nicole Shawver, was born in Charleston, West Virginia to parents Gregory and Carolyn Pennington. She was raised in Sissonville, West Virginia with parents and two brothers. She attended Sissonville Elementary and Middle schools until the sixth grade when she was home schooled by her mother. In 2007 she attended Everest Institute to study in the medical field until she realized her first dream to become a published author. Now Amanda is currently working towards a degree in Childrens Literature with the Institute of Childrens Literature. Lily's Rag Doll, is the first story wrote for publication. The idea for the story came from her own daughter who loves dolls. Her love for stories and writing was realized at an early age in life and encouraged by her mother and elementary school librarian Mrs. Booth. Amanda Shawver still lives in Sissonville, West Virginia with her husband and their five children. The love her children shares for stories is inspirational enough. The author says, "to watch my children grow, and learn, and all the things they love is inspirational enough and gives me all the ideas I need to write my stories. Lily's Rag Doll, is just one of the stories I wrote for my Lily's series."
