One evening around bedtime it started to rain. She was trying to sleep, but she heard a rustling noise out on the porch. At first she thought it was the wind blowing against the glass. Being curious she parted the curtains. And surprise of surprises she stood eye to eye with Peter the Pelican. “Hi,” she said finally when she could close her mouth to speak. Peter didn't reply. He stood pressed against the glass doors, shivering like palms in a coconut tree. “What are you doing?” she asked. “Shhh. I'm hiding,” the pelican managed to say. “Why?” asked Rose. “Shhh.” “And why are you shaking?” whispered Rose. `I'm not shaking. I'm just scared.” “Why?” Rose repeated.

About the Book
Rose is young girl on vacation whose afraid of the ocean . She forms a special friendship with a pelican named Peter. She meets many friends, but forms a special bond with Peter who helps her get over her fear of water.
About the Author
Neil Deutsch is sixty-six years old and not getting any younger. He lives in New York City with his wife Mary Jane and their nine year old daughter Rose. He has two degrees in Psychology. He has worked as a teacher, a reporter ,and a professional poker player. He has owned several businesses including a Roommate Service, a Messenger Service and currently a Logistics company. He is currently working on a new adult Novel called Last Tango in Santa Marta.
