About the Book

Jeff Pollock's poetry is inspired by the only truth worth living and dying for in this mixed up world. Jesus said, “I am the way, the truth, and the life.” There is one way to the Father and His Son Jesus Christ our Lord proved He is it! The Old Testament book of Isaiah says God keeps in perfect peace those who believe in Him and trust Him completely. A steady following, feeding, and focus on Jesus Christ brings peace to fruition, full enjoyment! No one deserves peace, no self-help guru or relaxation technique will give it; God’s peace is beyond understanding, though it is available to everyone. In faith invite him into your heart and begin to know Heaven’s peace, an eternal by-product of our decision to trust Him for salvation. God’s grace and ultimately His peace entered Jeff’s life through the eyes and heart of a beautiful redhead named Evelyn. The moment he looked in her eyes his life and ultimately his destiny changed. Right then and there he wrote her a love poem to Jesus, and God opened every door and made their love complete, complete in Him! This collection of original Christian poetry is based on Holy Scripture and written to encourage believers in their faith. Inspired by the courageous love of the author's wife, Evelyn, and the ever-faithful promises of our Savior Jesus Christ, this personal journal of encouragement is a work of heart and temporary tribute to His eternal grace and glory. Birthed in a genuine "born again" experience of love these heartfelt poems express a deep desire to know God more and experience Him in every aspect of life. Hope you will enjoy!

About the Author

I love Jesus! He's the One Focus of my heart. I am saved by grace through faith in His love! Lift up the name of Jesus - lift Him up! God is love, if you genuinely love someone God is alive in your heart. Trouble comes when we try in our limited understanding to separate the truth from the constant barrage of lies holding us back from seeing God for who He really is and respecting people with a pure heart. In Christ all things are possible! For 20 years I had the joy of loving and being loved by the most beautiful girl ever created! Evelyn lived out the meaning of her name - Life. She loved people and they knew it. Afflicted with juvenile onset arthritis, she loved Jesus her Savior with all her heart and knew Jesus was worth living and dying for. I'm a better man and a better person because of her. I miss her so! In May of 1988 we met and “fell in love” while working at Hotel Dieu Hospital in El Paso, TX. The moment I looked in her eyes God spoke to my heart! I loved her before I even knew her name! Right then and there I wrote her a love poem called In Your Eyes. The first time we had lunch together Ev' shared her faith in Jesus and invited me to church. The very next Sunday I was saved, born again, in Christ! God carried us through our terrible 20's and brought us to Himself and to each other when we were 28. I remember everything coming into focus; the only thing that mattered was loving Jesus and having relationships that glorified God. Joshua’s proclamation, “As for me and my house, we will serve the Lord.” became the goal of our marriage and the desired character of our home. The song Holy and Anointed One which was sung at our wedding encouraged and reminded us of His faithfulness throughout our years together. Evee's favorite Bible verse was Jeremiah 29:11 “God knows the plans He has for you, to prosper you and not to harm; to give you a hope and a future.” I like to change the last part to "be your hope and future!" I joined Jesus Chapel Northeast and got to know the God who loved the world so much He sent His Son who suffered the cruelest death imaginable to save me from eternal Hell, and the personal hell my life had become. His faithful promise was and is eternal life by grace through faith. I enjoyed singing church hymns like Amazing Grace and I Love to Tell the Story. I was greatly influenced by Isaac Watts who authored hundreds of hymns including "When I survey the wondrous cross" and "Joy to the world!" - simple songs of praise and worship to Jesus! I suppose I figured if he could do it, I could too! By God's grace, poetry came easy, and I was learning to love God’s Word! My prayer for this book of poems is that it would serve to glorify God through Christ and encourage others to use their own God-given talents to help others. A SELAH MOMENT Stop and think Everyone belongs to Jesus Life exists at His command All His ways are true He loves you
