SPIRITUALITY FOR RECOVERING ADDICTS

"Spirituality for Recovering Addicts" is a new book written by Father Richard Bulwith, a catholic priest of the Archdiocese of Chicago. He shares a wealth of experience to help people who are in recovery or in need of recovery and enhance their own spiritual growth. It will give people a new concept of spirituality. Twelve Step Meditations and lifegiving prayers. "People have confused fear-driven religion with true intimacy with God. Addicts in the recovery process will be called upon to develop a faith or belief in their best selves, a higher power, or a God of love, compassion and care in order to help themselves. They need to develop a faith that is not connected with religiosity or unhealthy religious attitudes. Addicts have belonged to a specific religion. religious denomination, or sect. but all too often the faith they embraced has been confused with religiosity. The danger for addictsis is to inadvertently relate to God or a higher power with false religious attitudes thinking that they are answering the call to faith."
