Kelvin, Keith, Charles, Karen and Denise's mother, Shirley Ann came from broken beginnings and the pieces would never really be put together. Shirley Ann never knew her mother and father and was juggled from one aunt and uncle to the other from New Jersey to Kentucky and all points in between. She never was given the chance in her youth to have a normal family life and develop a sensible feeling of family pride. The last thing Shirley Ann wanted when she started her own family was to feel the abandonment of her youth again. Therefore, Shirley Ann decided to clutch tight that which she held most dear........her family. When it was finally time to rear her own family, she vowed to keep them close together by whatever means necessary. Usually her ends did not justify the means, but could Shirley Ann really be held accountable for her way of doing things? It was her past experiences in her life that scarred her anyway.

About the Book
I am very glad that people are enjoying The Yellow Legacies. This was a labor of love that I wrote in 2006. It is loosely based on experiences that I encountered in the house where I grew up. It is about love, life, and lessons but most of all family. It is about fears and tears and overcoming the past. It is ultimately about the wonderful family I have always truly appreciated, loved, and admired from those moments while growing up to even now.
About the Author
Danica Hobbs is a writer and spoken word poetess. She was given a gift to write at a very young age. Her talent's and gift has now brought her to complete her very first book entitled, "The Yellow Legacies", a compilation of short stories about family, life and love. Danica Hobbs would like to utilize her experience as a published author to help mentor and inspire young women to write. She believes if you can write it and see it, you can then achieve it.
